God is against sin which is defined in the Bible as disobedience to the law of God.
1 John 3:4 KJV

Commentary
Disobedience of Adam and Eve to the commandment of God, led to the bondage of death for all men --- Hebrews 2:14-15
God told Adam and Eve to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, or they would die --- Genesis 2:17
Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil --- Genesis 3:12
God drove out the man from Eden, to keep him from having access to the tree of life --- Genesis 3:24
Without access to the tree of life, all men die, because of the disobedience of Adam and Eve.
Jesus offers forgiveness of sin because he paid the penalty for all the sin of mankind.
Those who accept Jesus, repent of their sin, and stop sinning by keeping the commandments of God, will be forgiven, and their obedience will allow them to enter heaven and have access to the tree of life.
Blessed are they that do his commandments, they may enter heaven --- Revelation 22:14
