Commentary

God has given the kingdom of Israel to David and his sons for ever.

Jesus is in the lineage of David and as his son he is posed to take over the throne of David for ever.

When Jesus takes over his father David's throne, then all the seed of Abraham will be included as children of God.

Galatians 3:26-29 KJV
[26] For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. [27] For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. [28] There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. [29] And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

The love of God for his children is as a covenant of salt, meaning for ever.
