[24] Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. [25] Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. [26] And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. [27] And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

[10] When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? [11] She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Commentary
The repentance program works because of the patience of God to forgive sins 70 x 7 times.
If God were not patient, all would be destroyed since all men are sinners.
Romans 3:23 KJV
[23] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 5:12 KJV
[12] Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
The repentance program is for a person to make changes in the way they live, to bring them in harmony with the way God wants them to live.
God desires a person to confess and repent of their sin.
1 John 1:8-10 KJV
[8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
The Holy Spirit dwelling within a person uses the conscience to convict a man of sin.
John 8:9-11 KJV
[9] And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
John 14:15-31 KJV
[15] If ye love me, keep my commandments. [16] And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; [17] Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Acts 5:32 KJV
[32] And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
Once a man is convicted of sin he repents to God, apologizes, and asks for forgiveness.
God will forgive.
How many times can a person continue to ask God for forgiveness for the same sin.
This is the program that teaches a man to teach himself how to recognize his sin before committing it.
Pretty soon a person has to come to the realization that he needs to stop the sin and start doing right.
How many times can you break a law of God, ask him for forgiveness, and then break that same law again.
Even a slow learner has more than enough forgiveness times available from God to finally see their sin ahead of time and stop committing that same sin over and over.
A person needs to be sincere with God.
