[25] But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

James 2:12 KJV
[12] So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Revelation 20:12-13 KJV
[12] And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. [13] And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

Commentary

A young man came to jesus and asked him what he needed to do in order to have eternal life.
Jesus answered him by saying he needed to keep the commandments.

Then the person asked which commandments.
Jesus answered by quoting from the Ten Commandments.

The young man answered that he had kept all these.
Then Jesus reminded him of the tenth commandment that he had forgotten, coveting.

The young man loved his possessions more than eternal life.
Jesus told the rich young man that he needed to keep the commandments, all ten, in order to have eternal life.

Matthew 19:16-30 KJV
[16] And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? [17] And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. [18] He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, [19] Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [20] The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? [21] Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. [22] But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
