Baptisms, water, Holy Spirit, and death
You are saved from eternal death by the grace and mercy of God.
There are no works that a person can do to prepare themselves to escape from their own grave.
All men are sinners and all men die.
Not one man has brought themselves back to life from their grave, except Jesus.
It is by your belief, faith, and trust in Jesus that God will resurrect you to life on the last day.
But God has asked you to do some things for him.
Like pick up your cross daily and follow him.

Commentary
Jesus is the final sacrifice, the greatest sacrifice, the only sacrifice, which God will accept in order to forgive man his sins and give him life.
People are saved by grace. Saved is to be saved from eternal death. Only God can give life back to a person and raise them from their grave. No man can do the work of self-resurrection.
No man can do any particular work of the law, or of any kind of work, and boast that it is something he has done that has indebted God with the necessity to raise him from the dead.
No man can boast that he has delivered himself, saved himself, from eternal death. Only God has the power of life and can raise a man from the dead and give him life.
It is through a person's belief and faith in Jesus that God will give that person the gift of eternal life and resurrect that person to life on the Lord's day, the last day of the world, the day of the Lord.
Jesus created all things, including us. We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works.
Jesus has asked us to show our love for him by keeping his commandments. A "good work."
He also expects us to do some other good works that he has prepared for us.
HERE IS A LIST OF SOME OF THOSE "GOOD WORKS" GOD HAS PREPARED FOR US TO WALK IN
