-- The first thief said, "if you be Christ, save yourself and us." --- Luke 23:39
-- The second thief confessed his sin by saying he was receiving the due reward of his deeds --- Luke 23:41
-- The second thief acknowledged Jesus as God by calling him Lord --- Luke 23:42
-- The second thief asked for forgiveness and to be with Jesus in his kingdom --- Luke 23:42
-- Jesus said that because of what he was doing that day, by dying on the cross, that Jesus would be able to pay the penalty for the sins of the second thief and thereby grant him permission to enter paradise --- Luke 23:43
-- Salvation is Jesus telling you the same thing he told the second thief on the cross.
-- Do not wait until they nail you to a cross before you confess your sin to God.
-- Talk to Jesus today and ask for forgiveness.
-- Today can be your day of salvation, that's the plan.
Luke 23:39-45 KJV
[39] And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. [40] But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? [41] And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. [42] And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. [43] And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. [44] And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. [45] And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
