Gospel of God

Survey made about knowing the Ten Commandments

Summary:

I made a survey about how many people knew the new covenant was the Ten Commandments written in the heart and mind.

Points:

I asked hundreds of people about the Ten Commandments, and everyone was familiar with the Ten Commandments.

When I asked if they could tell me the Ten Commandments, only a few people could give a some of them and not in any order.

After the first several hundred, I finally found someone that did know all ten and in order.

Jesus asked us to love him and keep his commandments --- John 14:15

How can a person keep the Ten Commandments if they do not know them.

If an officer pulls you over for speeding, is it sufficient to say you did not know the limit?

What's going to be God's reaction if you say you did not know the Ten Commandments?

God is the one who has written them on your heart and mind --- Jeremiah 31:33; Hebrews 8:10

My plead with you is to know them. It is one of the starting points to being a Christian.

Another work would be to open the door when Jesus knocks on the door of your heart --- Revelation 3:20

There are many other works that Jesus expects his believers and followers to do.

Commentary

How can you keep the Ten Commandments if you do not know them --- John 14:15

God has already written them on your heart and mind, and with a little effort on your part you can learn to know them, do them, keep them, all ten --- Jeremiah 31:33; Hebrews 8:10

Jesus told the Rich Young Ruler to keep the Commandments, all ten. The Rich Young Ruler said he had kept the commandments since his youth. Jesus told him that he lacked one thing. Sell all that you have, give to the poor, and you shall have riches in heaven. The Rich Young Ruler walked away from Jesus because he did not want to give up his love for his riches. He lacked one thing.

Do not lack one thing by not keeping the seventh day Sabbath. The seventh day Sabbath is the fourth commandment of the Ten Commandments. Sunday is the work of the Catechism of the Catholic church, man's word and tradition.

Now you know the Tenth Commandment, do not covet, like the Rich Young Ruler did. He lacked one thing.

Matthew 7:21-23 says that not everyone that says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into heaven, but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven.

If you are not keeping the commandments of God, you are working iniquity --- Matthew 7:23; Luke 13:27; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12; Titus 2:11-15

Not keeping the seventh day sabbath, as created by God, as written in the Ten Commandments, and kept in the Bible by Jesus, the Apostles, and followers of Jesus, is to lack one thing.

To read the story of the Rich Young Ruler go to: Matthew 19:16-22; Mark 10:17-22; Luke 10:25-28; and Luke 18:18-20.

To learn the Ten Commandments, go to: Exodus 20:3-17; or Deuteronomy 5:6-21
